Doctor Who - The Dominators

First broadcast on BBC1 in 1968, The Dominators sees the TARDIS materialising on the planet Dulkis, currently under threat from two alien Dominators and their robotic servants, the Quarks.

Their intention is to turn the planet into a raidoactive mass, fuel for their space fleet.

The pacifist Dulcians refuse to retaliate, until the Doctor, Jamie and Zoe arrive.

Can they help save both the planet and its people in time?

Patrick Troughton stars as the Doctor, with Frazer Hines as Jamie. Wendy Padbury, who plays Zoe in the episodes, also provides linking narration and, in a bonus interview, recalls her time in Doctor Who.

Patrick Troughton faces the dreaded Cybermen in the digitally remastered soundtrack of a classic BBC TV story, with linking narration by Frazer Nines

‘You will be like us… ‘

On the planet Telos, the Doctor and bis friends encounter a party of archaeologists intent on uncovering the mythical ‘ Tomb of the Cybermen ‘. Only the Doctor seems aware of the folly of this venture, but suddenly it’s too late - the ice tombs are open, and the Cybermen are coming back to life…

Trapped underground with the Cyber Controller and his acolytes, including the vermin-like Cybermats, the Doctor and company learn that they are to be turned into a new generation of Cybermen. To make matters worse, there is treachery and double-crossing amongst the humans.

Can the Cyber menace be made dormant before it spreads out to the galaxy once again — and will the Doctor, Jamie and Victoria escape with their lives?

Frazer Hines , who played Jamie in these four BBC TV episodes from 1967, provides linking narration for the story. In a bonus interview, he also recalls the making of The Tomb of the Cybermen .

Doctor Who - The Savages

Doctor Who - The Savages

‘We have reached the distant horizon of an age of peace and prosperity!’

When the TARDIS materialises on an alien planet, the Doctor insists that he and his companions have arrived in the far future. Steven and Dodo think otherwise, however, after they encounter a band of cave-dwelling primitives who are terrified of strangers. The travellers soon discover that the planet’s population is divided into two castes, and that the professed idyll of the Elders - who inhabit a technologically advanced city -seems oddly dependent upon the unsophisticated Savages.

Whilst the Elders’ leader, Jano, welcomes the Doctor into their society, Dodo stumbles upon a dark secret at the heart of the community. The truth behind the Elders’ great knowledge is eventually revealed, and the Doctor sees it as his duty to end a terrible case of exploitation. Yet Jano has plans of his own for the Doctor..

With the Doctor’s faithful companion Steven discovering that events on this planet will irrevocably shape his destiny, The Savages marks the final appearance in the programme of Peter Purves, who also provides the linking narration for this release.

Doctor Who - The Sea Devils

Jon Pertwee’s Doctor encounters ancient reptiles from beneath the sea in the original soundtrack of this classic 1972 TV adventure, with linking narration by Katy Manning. ‘We shall destroy Mand and reclaim the planet!’ Visiting the Master in his high-security prison just off the south coast of England, the Doctor and Jo Grant’s curiosity is piqued by a recent spate of disappearing ships.

Investigating a nearby sea fort, they encounter a ferocious amphibian creature - the cousin of a reptile race whom the Doctor met once before. These ‘Sea Devils’ have been revived from hibernation by the Master, whose scheme is being aided by the Prison Governor.

Realising that the Master wants to create havoc on Earth, and to see humanity subjugated by the Sea Devils, the Doctor once again attempts to broker peace between the two races.
