Plimoth Adventure - Voyage of the Mayflower

The pilgrims embark on a perilous voyage to the New World in search of religious freedom.

“Jerry Robbins and the Colonial Radio Players bring to life the persecution and betrayals of the Puritans, while still in Europe, that compelled their flight to the New World. While this tape is historically correct, it remains both exciting and fun. This audio presentation has a full cast and music score, with lots of sound effects, engaging your attention and imagination. The Plimoth Adventure, Voyage of the Mayflower makes history more personal for the listener” - Dean Carlisle, All Star Review

Sleeve Notes:

From the actual pages of the journal of William Bradford, we bring you our production detailing the Pilgrims’ epic struggle for religious freedom in the New World. The play dramatizes this monumental undertaking by the Pilgrim Fathers, and we attempt to illustrate the trials and tribulations that lead up to their sailing from Southampton, England in the year 1620. Our Music Director, Jeffrey Gage, has composed his most uplifting and magnificent radio score to date and was able to once again incorporate some actual themes from the period. The Colonial Radio Players hope to please you, everyone, as they step to the microphones and present The Plimoth Adventure -Voyage Of Mayflower

Gettysburg Day 3 - Army of the Living God

Friday, September 12th, 2008 by Book Guy | No Comments »

"This is a high quality, digitally recorded production features top-notch actors and music… a great selection for Civil War buffs… and students." - Elaine Hanson - BOOKLIST.

" The sound effects are good, the narration clear and crisp, the various voices even better …an endless spectacle of blood and dust and insects and carnage. That’s what the war itself was like, of course. Here are the fatigue, the despair, the pain, the screams, the deafening cannon plowing through human ranks, death, and dismemberment. Sometimes the politicians are heard. More often the generals and officers and foot soldiers. One would swear that a newspaper reporter with cassette recorder in hand was dashing around the battlefield in the thick of it" - AudioFile

In the tradition of classic radio plays, with a full cast, music and sound effects. The Colonial Radio Theatre On The Air is proud to present this spectacular three part production - "Gettysburg." Highly detailed and accurate, you will find yourself in the middle of General Buford’s skirmish line, Little Round Top.The Wheatfield, Pickett’s Charge, and listen while President Lincoln delivers his address some four months later. No matter which side you are loyal to… "Gettysburg" will have your heart pounding with its action, adventure and suspense.

Gettysburg Day 3 Sea of Anguish: The final day of fighting, culminating with Pickett’s heroic yet doomed Charge..

POWDER RIVER - Season 1. Episode 07: The Lost Mine

Saturday, July 19th, 2008 by Book Guy | No Comments »

Join former lawman turned rancher Britt MacMasters and his son Chad as they begin a new life for themselves in Clearmont, Wyoming … but Britt’s past returns to haunt him, as one of the toughest outlaw gangs in the west is headed towards Clearmont for revenge!

Powder River is performed in the style of a classic old time radio show, not dissimilar to the Six Shooter, but the production quality is very much in the 21st century with crystal clear stereo sound, masterful use of sound effects, and a completely original music score.

Each episode is a story in its own right so the episodes can be listened to individually, but we’d recommend you start at episode 1 and work your way through them consecutively to get the maximum enjoyment.

In this episode, Chad learns about the legend of a lost mine in the hills.
